About Education
The birth of the education foundation
Born in 2013 to a group of passionate Bhamdounis that believed that the road to a better future lies in the education of a new generation of Bhamdounis. They adopted the motto:
"Bhamdounis helping Bhamdounis get educated".
The foundation operated informally for the first 2 years and in 2015, its application as a non-for-profit charitable organization with the Ministry of Interior was approved and currently operates under license number 109 dated 26/01/2015.
The goal of foundation is to ensure that no person from Bhamdoun will be denied a college education because of financial reasons.
Our Students
Since its founding, Over $800,000 has been raised and more than $650,000 in scholarships have been distributed to nearly 70 students attending the following universities:

Our Alumni
Our students upon graduating have chosen different paths. Thirty-five students responded to our survey upon graduation. Of those, 16 are working or studying abroad, 11 are working or studying inside Lebanon and the rest are still seeking employment. Here is a synopsis of the jobs our alumni have:

In the Fall Semester 2024, 25 Bhamdouni students have received scholarships to attend college
About Development
Expansion into Development
The economic crisis that triggered the collapse of the Lebanese economy, the closure of all Lebanese banks and the loss of 97% of the purchasing power of the Lebanese pound severely hindered all public works in the country. The foundation expanded its charter in 2024 in an effort to undertake some much needed projects to improve the quality of life in Bhamdoun.
The foundation raised and spent nearly $200,000 on the following projects:
Solar Power for the village Water Pump
A project undertaken and funded to the tune of more than $120,000 by the Norwegian Church Authority (NCA) to provide much needed water to the residents of the village
Installing Solar Powered Lights on the main Streets in Mhatta and Day3a
Over 100 independent solar paneled lights were installed in both the Mhatta and the day3a main Sreets at a cost of $15,000 in Mhatta and $10,000 in Day3a.
Recycling and Trash Pickup
We introduced and negotiated the signing of a recycling program between the municipality in the Day3a and a company called GMR that has been undertaking recycling in a number of adjacent villages. In no small part to heroic undertaken by our youth to educate the residents in Bhmadoun, more recycled material was picked up in Bhamdoun compared to any other village served by GMR. We are looking to expand this arrangement to Mhatta and Btalloon.
Youth Initiatives
We funded the creation of a youth center that was designed and fixed and decorated by the youth themselves. In addition we renovated a basketball court and installed solar lights in it, The you managed the operations of the court.
